Super uncle Ethan Tait is the toast of his family after fearlessly risking his life to save his niece and nephew from being run over by a bus.
The heroic teenager threw himself into the path of the moving bus in a double bid to save his family.
The brave 17-year-old student first grabbed three-year-old niece Ruby after she stepped into the road – and then pushed her twin brother Lennon out of the way after he had followed him into the road.
Ethan was fortunately unhurt despite taking the full force of the collision but little Lennon suffered injuries in the rescue, reports the Newcastle Chronicle.
The teenager has been hailed as a hero by dad Anthony and sister Latalia - who feared she had lost her children in the incident which happened in Walker, Newcastle.Ethan Tait and the twins

Hero: Uncle Ethan Tait with toddler twins Lennon and Ruby

Ethan said: “I pushed Lennon so that if the bus went over anyone it would have been me. I would die for my nephew.
“I didn’t think twice I just ran straight into the road. I grabbed him just before the bus hit him. It hit me instead. It was really scary, I thought I was dead but I knew he wouldn’t have been.”
Thanks to Ethan’s bravery, Lennon was saved from death but was left covered in blood with head injuries and a broken leg.
The youngster was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary, where he was given nine stitches in the front of his head and an oxygen mask overnight, staying in the hospital for two days.
Mum Latalia, 22, said: “I was terrified. I closed my eyes and screamed. I thought I had lost my brother and my babies. I’ve done nothing but cry.

On the mend: Ethan Tait with Lennon, who suffered head injuries and broken leg

“I’m so glad I had my brother there. If I didn’t have my brother there I would have lost my babies. Ethan is a hero."
The pair had been walking along Welbeck Road after picking the toddlers up from nursery when the accident happened.
But after Ruby suddenly stepped into the middle of the road, Ethan quickly ran to push her back into the arms of her mother - just as Lennon followed him straight into the path of the bus.
Ethan then rushed back to the other side of the road and saved his nephew from the full impact of the bus.
Proud dad Anthony, 40, said: “Ethan never had time to get off the road, he put himself under the bus. He grabbed Lennon off the road but that’s all he could do.
“I’m very proud of him for doing it, he put himself in front of a bus between the two kids and the bus. He’s definitely a hero.”
A spokeswoman for Stagecoach said: “Our best wishes remain with the family and we hope that the young boy makes a full recovery soon.”
